Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas and not using a Converse marketing campaign. This time the high-profile footwear model’s chosen singer/songwriter Charli XCX (Charlotte Emma Aitchison) as “the perfect pairing of two icons” for a very powerful marketing campaign of the 12 months.
The partnership kicks off with the star “celebrating her love for the Chuck Taylor All Star” within the vacation marketing campaign photographed by Sharna Osborne. However wait, the complete story is but to be revealed as “more details about how Charli and Converse will be creating together will be shared in the months to come”.
But for now she does at least join a long line of Converse creators that includes Tyler, The Creator, Billie Eilish, pgLang, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Alexis Sablone, Rick Owens, and Isabel Marant among others.
And it’s not just celebs that form a dual love-in for the brand. Last month, designer Isabel Marant, also known for her love of Chuck Taylor sneakers, co-launched a first footwear collaboration with the brand, a link-up that also heralds other Chuck Taylor developments, we were told.
The collab included a new silhouette, the Chuck 70 Wedge, alongside a fresh take on the classic Chuck 70, and “honours Marant’s stake in fashion and her pioneering work around the sneaker wedge trend of the 2010s”.
